Head Office System (RMS)

RMS is a Windows-based client/server merchandise, distribution, and stock management head office system used to manage large retail chains. The system has extensive functionality and is fully scalable. MS SQL Relational Database Management system is used to support large data volumes and for fast performance. See Key Features of RMS


Store Management System (SMS)

SMS is a great deal more than just a point of sale system. It also handles all store back office functions and communicates directly with the RMS Head Office system – in real time if required. The system has been used in stores since 1997 and there are thousands of registers running SMS for a diverse range of retailers.

From a technical perspective, SMS is a Windows-based, distributed client/server POS system featuring an easy-to-use “ATM-like” interface that runs on touch-screen terminals, NCR Dynakey retail terminals, or on a standard PC screen. Object-oriented technology is used for high reliability and ease of maintenance. The user interface in SMS is one of the key competitive advantages. It is a third-generation, intuitive interface, which converts generic computers into purpose-specific equipment. Keyboard use is minimal and a mouse is not needed at all. As a result cashier training and re-training are practically eliminated and operator errors are minimized. RMS and SMS are completely integrated, but can also be used independently. SalesCube ®

SalesCube ® is an easy-to-use Head Office retail sales, profit, and stock performance analysis tool. It is an extremely powerful OLAP Management Information System that can generate over a thousand enquiries and reports. Retailers use SalesCube® to view sales, gross profit and stock information by product (or product group), by week (or by trading period), or by store (or group of stores) on a single easy-to-use Windows screen.

SalesCube ® allows for graphical data presentation, including Quadrant Analysis, which is an essential tool for Category Management.

The information is stored in the data warehouse as a series of data cubes, which are automatically updated by RMS as it processes sales and stock transactions.


BudgetCube ®

A companion to SalesCube ® , BudgetCube ® produces weekly comparison sales and gross profit budgets, by store and category, based on SalesCube ® data. BudgetCube® is also integrated with RMS to provide sales forecasts for Merchandise Planning. Retailers use BudgetCube ® to create weekly sales and gross profit budgets by department (or category) and by store. These budgets can be linked so that a change to one affects the others.
